old music is great!! free bird is so not a turn off! i love that song, i have it on my ipod... love the guitar solo! i guess it depends on the girl though

Dude, listening to "old" music is more than okay, I encourage it. Alot of the classics are better than the music today anyway. Is Freebird a turnoff? Haha..... not for me.

of course it's okay, idiot.

of course its ok 70's rock is awesome...

and i dont think i know anyone who doesn't know free bird.

and it depends what kind of girl it is

it depends on which girls you're trying to pick up.

me, personally,
i like that stuff.
i was born in the nineties,
but i'm totally a 60-80's child.

I LOVE THE OLDIES.

i don't mean the stuff that everyone likes
like ac/dc and skynnard,
but i like stuff like the little river band,
the doobie brothers,
the beegees,
the good stuff.

oldies are better than most music today.
it actually has meaning.

don't change your music style because of some stupid girl.

Who cares what the chicks think. Girls will like you much more if you listen to what you want to.

Free Bird is a great song, obviously.

omg im a chick i love free bird no old musics cool

my fella loves old music any woman that judges a lad by the music he likes is a fool all music is good

Thank your dad & go for the chick. If she rejects you based on "Free Bird"...she wasn't worth it....

of course it is ....it shows class also ur taste in music.......i haven't heard "free bird" or i think i have, but our generation, kids our age appreciate oldies........i don't think any girl would be turned off by it........it can be romantic. its way better than the music that is being produced now. i mean look at it this way, if we can still listen to songs from the 70's those are classic, good songs.... do you think we could do the same with the songs that are hot now?

Of course, it's okay to listen to classic rock. I'm in my late thirties and I have listened to music from all times and all genres since I was a little kid. I have always listened to music that was made before I was born, as well as stuff that's coming out right now.

What matters to me is the quality of the music. Do you listen for the lyrics? Or is it something about the arrangement of the instruments that appeals to you? Or just a mixture of all of it? Whatever the case, if the music has integrity and a sense of meaning to you, listen to it, by all means. And who cares what anyone else thinks!

And, yeah, I know Free Bird. It was huge when I was young. The lyrics are a little schmaltzy by today's cynical standards, but they came across as honest and heartfelt. I still love to sing along when I hear it in the car! If it's a turn-off for young chicks, keep looking until you find a young chick who digs that stuff. There's gotta still be a few like that out there.

Just be yourself, musically as well as in other aspects of your life. Listen to what sounds and feels right to you, even if it's not what's on the radio or the iPods of the kids at school this week.

its a good song.

my friends and I are in hs and we rock out to the oldies all day long....if they dont like it i usually dont talk to the....ps- ive loved old music since 4th grade

I think "Freebird" turns off most anyone with taste. But yeah... listening to 70s music is fine, as long as you're listening to good 70s music.

I listen to music from every era since the turn of the 20th century, and especially love the 1930s, late 60s/early 70s, etc... So obviously I have nothing against listening to "old" music (much older than the 70s).

As long as you keep an open mind to new music and don't become one of those grumpy old "there hasn't been any good music since Led Zeppelin broke up!" kinda people, you're good. Your appreciation for old music is wonderful... lots of great music to explore. Just don't let it hinder your appreciation of new music, lest you become a relic.

EDIT: oh yeah, to answer the "chick" question... I don't think listening to "Freebird" would turn *most* girls off. But being needy enough to base your music taste around what girls would like and asking if it's "ok" WOULD turn most chicks off. Just for the record... So just like what you like and don't worry about it.

Classic rock is awesome! If it weren't for cool old bands like Skynyrd, do you think country music would even exist as it is today??? All these country sh*theads are Skynyrd wannabees!

NO. IT IS A CRIME PUNISHABLE BY DEATH. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING OVER TEN YEARS OLD! OTHERWISE YOU WILL STILL BE A VIRGIN WHEN YOU'RE FIFTY.

If you listen to classic rock like 70's-ish stuff then that is awesome. In my school, the guys listen to that kind of music are cool and cute. The most liked guy by girls at my huge highschool is this guy that is into Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin stuff. I like it better, because its better than anything recent. Freebird is a great song too.

It's super OK!
Girls love guys who listen to rock!
I even listen to 70s rock!

No... I don't it will.
It won't turn me off.
But, I'd get turned on if I find someone I can share my same musical interests with him and he'd like what I like...
I'm not saying to go listen to music all girls listen to.
But, yeah...

Noo I think it's such a turn on. I listen to 60's and 70's music like it just came out last week.
