Why did country music fans get so upset with the Dixie Chicks and their anti-Bus!

I didn't get upset with them. Everyone has a right to their opinion. I was surprised at peoples reactions.
How dare they put their snooty noses in the political world where it doesn't belong! Are they out there putting their lives on the line? They sure do want their American dollars rolling in though. They dissed Nashville and Country music and need to change their name.
I think that it was what they said but moreso that they said it in another country that upset everyone.
That's because most country fans are very patriotic and usually vote Republican. For a "country" group to show the world their liberal ways upset a lot of good, conservative folks. The Dixie Chicks tried to make us good folk look bad.
Everybody made such a big deal out of it because the chicks said it in England, and England made a big thing out off it a when it came home everybody was embarrassed that some- one from the USA would ever say anything about the USA in another country. If the Dixie Chicks where to say something like that now the USA would run a 3 of them for president of the USA! And they would probably win!
Most country music fans and most country people are Democrats. They just don't want their CDs destroyed like people did The Dixie Chicks. It comes down to money. I saw a Toby Keith interview where he said that he wasn't neccessarily for invading Iraq, but he would always support the troops with songs. I think all musicians learned a lesson from the Dixie Chick goof. Just because you are against a war based on lies doesn't mean you aren't patriotic. Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, West Virginia. They are all southern states that have a larger amount of Democrats registered to vote than Republicans.
