I think the reason why some people hate on hip-hop nowadays is because it's just different and has eveolved from what it originated from. In my opinion, hip-hop has died... what we hear on the radio today i like to call "trendy-pop" mostly just because it is pleasing to the ears and makes us want to dance. hey i like to listen to it but i would never buy one of their records. Older hip-hop talks about hard times, aiming for having the money but not having it. Also todays hip-hop is rarely written by the artist themself. it is written by a group of guys who aren't good with publicity/cameras. Think back to the pioneers of the genre and all their lyrics were written by themself. there is more emotion is speaking what you wrote down or felt while sitting in the booth. i am not an artist by any means but i do know that i feel more strongly for what i represent than someone who wrote my conversations for me, if you know what i mean. i don't hate, i just choose to listen to hip-hop that talks about hard times than the money, cars and ladies. If people are hatin' it's because they don't agree with what is being spoken of on the tracks. check out beastie boys, eminem, tupac, BIG they wrote their own words.

Seriously, I don't think people are hating on them. People have different opinions. I find them amusing, but that's it. They really don't speak to me, but "they got money and be makin hot songs," so I'm sure they have enough fans to support them.

Some people were just exposed to music with higher standards in quality so its annoying to the trained ear of what quality is to have to listen to things that don't make the cut according to our standards...

Its kinda complicated wit Wayne. Yea, ***** got some hot ****, but its never HIS! He bites more lyrics than ANY OTHER RAPPER, EVER! The hottest **** you heard out his mouth, somebody else said it first, and it was usually Big L, Notorious B.I.G., or Big Pun. I PROMISE you! I study every rapper, and they style. Each lyric they lay, I've studied that hoe. And you do not get labeled as the best by SAYING it, you have to prove that to everybody. And mad niggaz aint convinced. Soulja boy, IN MY OPINION sucks. The music is catchy because you can dance to it but at the same time... His lyrics are REALLY stupid. He sounds illiterate to me.

I don't like Lil' Wayne either. He's cool, but he isn't as great as everyone makes him seem though.
