I hope I'm not too late. In my opinion, you should definitely go for Sufjan. "Boxer" and "The Con" are both really good albums, but pale in comparison to "...Illinoise". I haven't got either of the other two, and while Mars Volta are great, and Kanye is good if you like rap, the Sufjan alum is one of the best albums to come out in the last five or so years. I know you're a big Arcade Fire fan, so I can safely say you'll like it, since there are a lot of similarities between their musical styles. Seriously, you won't be dissapointed.

Go with Sufjan. He's amazing. I wasn't too overly impressed with The National's new record this year. Its worth listening to, but it doesn't really keep my attenetion. The new Tegan and Sara though is good as well.
