did you really just ask this question? Seriously, how can you compare a band like Zeppelin to what in my opinion is the MOST overrated band in the history of music...this comparison is just a hardcore dis to everyone who knows music. Lynyrd Skynyrd wouldn't even be known still if they hadn't died in a plane wreck. Their musical abilities can look impressive (if your tone deaf that is)....for instance freebird, all Skynyrd fans are like "Hell yea, FREEBIRD WHOOO-HOOO, this is the best guitar solo ever!!!" When the person who is not tone deaf is like, man i wish that dude would stop playing the same triplet over and over for eight minitues.

first off, both bands can't really be compared since they come from two different styles of music. I love both bands and saw both in concert. Although both were considered hard rock and heavy metal for the time, Skynard is heavy into southern country hard rock. Zeppelin, one of the for-runners of Heavy Metal. I have to say that Zeppelin is by far my favorite since their music is so influencial to all bands to this day and so unique. In concert, they would be in my top 5. I have seen over hundred groups over the years easily.
