New music, give me a song!!!?!

Question: ! have been trying to diversify with my music, I am a hard core 90's alt rock, hard rock fan, (STP, Alice in Chains, Live, etc) but the only band I have liked in the 2000's is the Killers, whom I love...now I realize man can live on the Killers alone, but I would like to see what else is out there (I dont listen to the radio really, but yeah I know that would be a good step)

I am not into hard core thrash metal, no hip hop or rap, and I really dont like whiny dudes singing for the most part...(like emo BS)

So knowing what I have said, suggest a few songs/bands for me to look into...favorite gets the ten spot! Oh, and just give me one song from one band so I can check them all out and not have it take me a month!!! Thanks!

First of all, I think it's cool that you are wanting to expand your music knowledge! Secondly, I'd have to say my favorite "new" song that I've added to my list is "Almost Lover" by A Fine Frenzy. Great song! Great band! Good luck with the search.

Try listining to Social Distortion there still around but there were formed back in the late 80's (i think) my favorite song by them is "Dont Drag Me Down" but I like every song they have

most "Black Mages" songs are really good. They play almost all the final fantasy music, and usually start out kinda classical but not boring, then change to rock. A specific song by them thats good would be "The Skies Above".

I assume that you probably liked Soundgarden as a 90s rock band, so I'm a little surprised that you didn't mention anything about Audioslave or Chris Cornell's solo work. He's done a lot of work since his days from Soundgarden.

IMO, if you like 90s rock, I have both Shinedown albums and to me their style is more of a throw back to the 90s rock era. Also, sorry I just had trouble sticking to one song for each artist.
