Why is Keith Urban officially considered to be country music? I saw a listing on!

Question: he was one of them. I like both classic and new country, but Keith Urban doesn't have an ounce of country in him, why is he classified that way?

he's always been considered country.
he does have a little country in him.
but i agree it's more rock.

he has always been classified country...for eight years now i know...read his biography, his parents grew up playing country music and listening to it..thats why he is an aussie that moved to nashville

oh no i not offended... is the other singers now a days country??

for example:
have you seen Nickelback on Cmt?? their song Rockstar is on there. are they country? nope

im not really sure but i think that the radio is all about the money now. cuz, i agree with you hes not country at all. i think its cuz hes got the looks ( even though i dont c it) and the voice i guess. im really not sure, but i think its cuz of the mony. any statoin will do any thing 4 mony now a days and i think thats the only reason that hes onthere!

BEATS THE HELL OUTTA ME! I AGREE WITH YA 100%! I DIDN'T and WOULDN'T even spend a second watching those PHONEY @SS SO CALLED COUNTRY SHOWS!!
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE LOOKS AND $$$$!
GONE ARE THE DAYS WHEN YOU SAT ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT AND BITE YOUR NAILS IN ANTICIPATION OF YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST WINNING BECAUSE THE RACE WAS SO CLOSE..WELL THIS BS IS SO PREDITABLE NOW...COUNTRY MY @SS!

Keith Urban is kinda annoying.

80% of "country music" today is bad pop/rock without the instrumentation, heart or soul that made classic country and sixties and seventies country great. Why single out Keith Urban, he's a lot better than most of the "acts" today.

I've met the man - he is country. His sound isn't much different than other top acts today.
