Do you have a band? Or are you a solo act? It doesn't matter either way, first what you want to do is practice, practice, practice, then when you feel comfortable playing on your own, go to places and/ or events where people can hear you. At schools, Weddings, Benefits, etc. Often there are open mike nights at places that have live entertainment. You are under 21, so you won't get into most bars, but if you are playing sometimes they will let you in long enough to play your sets and leave. Depends on the owner, etc. In any case, you need performance experience. When you've paid some dues, so to speak, you should begin to make a promotional package including a CD, or a tape, that has at least 7 cover songs and 2 or 3 songs (originals) that you wrote yourself, photos of you (and the band - if you have one) and if possible a video tape of you playing. It's tough to get studio time and it can be expensive, but you can make a quality CD or home video on your own, given the right equipment. You might then, also, take your CD to the local radio stations. Sometimes they will give new performers air time. Tha main thing is -if you are serious at all- to get yourself heard. If you go to a place to play and you look and present yourself like a professional, and you sound good, someone will notice you. Talent scouts frequent bars and such, but you don't have to go to a bar to be heard. Anywhere you can perform in front of people will make for good experience and if you are good, word of mouth is the best advertisement. Like anything worth doing, it does take time and there are expenses. Many musicians don't make it for several years. But don't give up. If it's your passion and you cultivate real original talent, it will happen for you. Good luck- I hope to hear you on the radio someday!

book a gig

go to a music school

join a band.

Ben, you just keep playing music. Keep singing. Go everywhere with your instrument.

Don't stop.

Just keep playing the music believing in yourself and the rest will come.

Just keep playing the music.

If I have a talent like you,I would not waste my effort and create a band.Make a song then recorded. Then send it to any record station-I think.

make a band
