Well yes I have seen him in concert.
Back then he would drink (not cool aid lol) and just play. Nothing like concerts of today with the smoke (not from joints or ciggies) flashy lights etc. This was back in the day when you bought there vinyl album after the show.
Several times...but not recently. He was great, both singing and guitar playing and his band is great -- they have been with him for years.
o about 15 years ago, and i've heard that he's just as good today.
Merle is a personal friend of mine
He is one super guy. Once at a concert in Louisville, Ky We met Merle at his motel. He gave me backstage passes to the show that night.
He told me to come in the back door,where the bus was parked. When I got to the show, a Ky.State Trooper was at the door and said no one could use that door unless they were preforming on the stage.
Merle was still on the bus, so I went to the bus and told him what the Trooper said.
He was dressed only in pants, boots and a undershirt. He got off the bus walked over to the door with me and told the Trooper if he did not let me in that the HAG would not go on stage that night. Needless to say, I was backstage for the concert. Had a great time!!
I have seen him and danced to his live music many times in Calif.his band played great dance music, this was before he became sooooo famous, but he was on his way, my bro.was a fanantic fan of his. Never have seen him in concert unless you could count a brawl in Montana years and years ago. LOL! I think that was a state fair, or fair ground, memory is not what it used to be. It was a LuLu however. Come to think of it there was a pretty hair raising brawl in Bakersfield.
