What should I charge for a one hour piano lesson?!

Question: This is going to depend on a number of things. First of all your experience or age. If your younger and are just starting to give lessons I would recommend starting at like $15 a half an hour, so like $30 an hour. I would also say that if this is for a beginner you might only want to do a half an hour lesson (especially if it is for a kid) Half an hour is the usual amount of time and any longer usually stretches the student's attention span. If you are more experienced I would say anywhere from $18-25 a half an hour so like $36-50 an hour. This is also going to depend if you are traveling to their home or if they are coming to you. If you are traveling to them go ahead and charge a little more because you are paying for gas and theres travel time to consider(the farther away the more you can add). If they are coming to you then just the standard amount. I would not go over $25 for the half an hour. Hope that helps.

Depends on where you live. Here in the Metro Detroit area, a one-hour piano lesson runs about $40.00 to $50.00 an hour on average.

It depends on your qualification... I'm guessing 20-25$ would be a reasonable price. Not more than 30 though.

it also depends on whether or not all your students are the same level. If you were teaching specifically advanced students, the price would be higher than normal (55-60 per hour, more if it's EXTREMELY advanced)

but a general one-hour lesson would range from 40-55

It depends... whatever the market will bear. It depends on your qualifications. My teacher has a Masters degree in music and is a very good pianist and she charges $50 /hour.

not 40-50 thats wayy too much. considering i paid $15 for a half hour, you could charge anywhere from $25-30. since its 15 for a half hour, double that its $30 for an hour, but give a deal. you know what im talking about? but 40-50 is too much. do 25-30. maybe 35.

yea i paid $15/half hour. and she had her masters degree too, but it was way cheaper. i think it was because it was just a side job.
