Yes, but i'm 68.

wow...you must be one of the older boomer generation or else know someone who is, since Johnny Horton died in 1960, I think. He was very popular in the late '50's...my uncle was one of his biggest fans...that is how I know him...my uncle owned all his records. His most famous song was "The Battle of New Orleans" which was actually a pretty neat song! :)

Yes Johnny Horton was a great one and he recorded some really great songs. "North To Alaska" "All For The Love Of A Girl" "Whispering Pines" as well as some historical songs such as "Jim Bridger" "Comanche" Sink The Bismarck" It was said that he had a premonition that he was going to die and it would involve alcohol. He and Hank Williams both played The Skyline Club in Austin as their last venue and they were both married to Bille Jean. Another great one we lost way too soon.
