What instruments are used in Western/cowboy music?!


Question: for my music gcse coursework, i have to create a piece of music that suits a country western cowboy film.

i can use any instruments as it is all on the eletric keyboard witch give all the different sounds of different instruments

i assume you're referring to 19th. century "real" working cowboys.

On long lonely cattle drives, cowboys would often turn to music (much as Civil War-era soldiers did) for some escape from boredom and entertainment.

The primary instrument used back then was, of course, the guitar and "mouth organ" or harmonica. Fiddle would have been popular as well.

put down the keyboard and pick up a guitar.

You can use an acoustic guitar, an old fashioned sounding piano sound, a slide guitar, and a fiddle or a violin.
