What is the interval between Ab and E#?!
Question: It would sound like a major sixth but should actually be a fifth of some description. How would you describe it? It's above augmented, so what would that be called?
Thank you.

You could call it a double-augmented fifth, but that's some real academic s#!t... ;-)
(Don't tell your theory professor I said that... )
peace
.
What the heck are you even talking about?
The same as between an Fb and a B#
Major 6th
It goes:
Minor 2nd (A)
Major 2nd (A#)
Minor 3rd (B)
Major 3rd (C)
Perfect Fourth (C#)
?? (D)
Perfect Fifth (D#)
Minor 6th (E)
Major 6th (E#)
Minor 7th
Major 7th
Octave
it is enharmonic with a Major 6th, but technically it is a double augmented 5th.
Very peculiar interval and not one you'd naturally see occur in music.
