Clash or Green Day?!
Question: two eras of punk here....which one are you???
Answers: two eras of punk here....which one are you???
clash.
Clash.
CLASH.
How can you compare a classic, AMAZING band with Green Dayy??
Green Day are good, i'll give you that...but up against the CLASH?!
Getting the message yet? haha
xx
CLASH! No comparison! Greenday can only dream of being as wonderful as the Clash.
My timeline points to Clash (30 something) but I totally dig Green Day
Clash, for sure. Green Day sold out.
Green Day kicks @ss!! I wish i could've seen them live, but i missed my opportunity to witness their very last tour a few years ago....=(
Clash. No disrespect to Green Day, but the true spirit of punk really ended with the first and real era of the genre.
green day!!!
Green Day.
The Clash are good, but I like Green Day's style better, plus they put on the best live show ever.
The Clash...
Strummer/Jones is the best punk songwriting team no doubt. They weren't skilled with their guitars, but somehow, they made use of them. Along with Paul Simonon, who pretty much is an underrated bassist, they turned basic playing to brilliant songwriting. In fact, they probably were one of the only punk bands of the time to actually make more advanced songs instead of a simple chord progression format (even though that's good as well, like with the Ramones). Oh, and anyone else love Strummer's vocals?
Their drummers come and go though...
definately The Clash
Green Day I wouln't even consider being punk
green day xD
they both suck!
CLASH! almost every punk band out there has the clash as its main influence..wahooo LOndon Calling!
The Clash, since they were raw and original... Green Day is, too, but to a lesser degree.
Clash kills Green Day. Green Day had like 1 or 2 good albums, then they sold out to the 12-14 year old age groups.
Green Day. They have a lot of better songs than Clash.
The Clash were obviously greater and more influential, but personally i prefer Green Day.
Greenday
The Mr. T Experience
2 different genres. Green day cannot even hold Joe Strummers Dic#. Punk is dead
Why couldn't you say The Clash and Rancid or something? Why did you pick Green Day? It makes it difficult to pick for the new era of punk.
Anyway, I'm both. I've only been listening to punk for a long time, and it's been long enough to have heard everything the 70s-80s had to offer and develop an appreciation for the 90s+. When you start drawing lines in the sand, it splits the audience and does more harm than good.
You could have said: Naked Aggression vs. X
GREEN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!
