Does anyone like alternative hip-hop?!

Question: I go to Morgan State University and we had a forum on alternative hip-hop, basically hip-hop that is used to empower oppressed people (really all poor people who are oppressed by the system).
This guy performed there that was sooooo good, you really have to listen to his lyrics. His myspace page is

Hes good, the rap game needs some one like him,he raps about more than money, cars, clothes, and being a king..he talks about a wide range of things like Katrina,Republican Party,Slavery,Iraq..

I love his music..
thanks

Personally, I don't think hip hop empowers people in a conventional way. It economically empowers the people who make the music (which is great by the way) and sometimes educates, even inspires, but I think it's incorrect to assume that a song can help a poor person out. But anyway, I do like "alternative" non mainstream hip hop.

Immortal Technique, Rage Against the Machine, Akil Ammar...those are some of my favorites.

One of the professors up there at Morgan State, Dr. Ball, is all about the alternative hip hop. He has a show on WPFW.

there is no such thing
