Calling all music theory experts...?!

Question: I'm arranging bass/string parts for a group to perform Patty Griffin's "Up to the Mountain," and don't know whether it the time signature should be 3/4 or a slow 6/8. The "feel" tells me that 6 beats want to cling together, but it's a very slow 6/8, and 6/4 is so seldom used I wouldn't likely go there. Thoughts?

Well 6/8 will always feel asif its just two slow beats like 123--456 where as 3/4 will feel more in triple and more driving in my opinion. Depends on the piece though. For easier listening i say the 6/8 but once again im not sure on the piece

a 3/4 shuffle, sounds like.

Try cut time.

3/4
