Well, I was a kid in the early to mid 1980's.
I listened to what was on the radio, but also my parents tast in music, which covered the 50's, 60's, and 70's.
Songs of the time that stand out to me are :~

When I was a young kid I listened to whatever my dad was listening to, which was usually Sammy Hagar or Earth, Wind and Fire. When I got older I got into the "boy bands."
