As much as I like Willie and his music Pretty Paper is a song that Roy sings better.
I vote for Roy too. I just don't care for Willie, he sounds like he is talking and not singing in his songs.

Willie gets my vote, I heard Willies version first and ever since I just liked it. (AHHHHHH!! yes, I can smell the holiday season coming)
Willie Nelson! He's got a simple way of phrasing his words that touch me.
He does sing it well and the orchestration is beautiful. It reminds me of something you would hear in an epic movie or a big production but I have a particular fondness for Willie and his version. Like Tex, it is the first version I heard and I have been listening to it for... geeez ...a looooooooong time... Over twenty years and since i am somewhat simple, I love the sound of Willie's, less imposing, less overpowering, just very clean and simple presentation as if we were sitting in an informal setting together; a couple of buddies...lol. I do like Roy's version but I am endeared to Willie's and there is no turning back for me...lol
