Which guitar?!
Question: Ok my sis wants to get a new guitar. She found two she wants at a local music shop. One of them is a Fender american strat 60's Reissue for$1199. And the other guitar is a Fender american strat 1972 natural wood finish for $780.
Which one should she get?

Make sure the serial number match and buy the '72. It will only increase in value and is worth more than the reissue at this point. The '60's reissue will resemble the pre CBS strats. I recently bought a 2006 Clapton Signature strat and love the quality. I also own a post CBS 1988 Strat Plus. I would be hard pressed to choose between the new one and the old classic, but I think the '72 would be the best deal unless it is heavily damaged.
If that is an actual original 1972 Strat for $780, and is in good shape, it's like stealing. Absolutely that is the one she should pick.
If the 1972 is an American Strat with all the original parts it is worth a lot more than $780.
