CLASSIC Country question...Loretta Lynn & Crystal Gayle?!
Question: do you think that it ever bothered Crystal to be called -Loretta's little sister- all the time when ever they wrote something about her(crystal) in the newsapapers or magazines---should it have bothered her?

Do you think Crystal would have become a famous country singer if it wasn't for her sister? In the music business, so much of it is not how talented you are but who you know, so I bet Crystal was happy to have a foot in the door by way of her sister.
Do you think it bothered Loretta that her career was on the decline when Crystal was up and coming? Loretta was a pioneer for women in country music; by the time Crystal came along, opportunities had improved somewhat so that I'm sure in some ways she had it easier than Loretta did.
Hopefully, they are close sisters and were happy for each other's success. I would love to have seen them record something together.

I think I would have been happy to be refered to as her sister. Why would it bother her?
Loretta Lynn is so much more of a country legend than Crystal. She was more known for her hair then her sound. And no, she should've taken being called Loretta a compliment!

I personally don't think Crystal Gayle had any reason to be jealous if she was because Loretta just can't be topped even by others let alone her sister. Both of them did well but they did songs of a different type. She should feel very proud to be Loretta's sister and vice versa.
I can't imagine that to some degree it didn't after all they are human...lol She may have never voiced it and I know there was no shame and I don't imagine there was any jealousy but I am sure she wanted to be known for her ability and not just being Loretta's sister. Honestly, no matter how nice of a person you are, you can't say that it might not have on an ocassion.
She never looked or acted bored, she was/is gorgeous, the coal miners daughter is a legend.
I think Crystal has nothing but respect for Loretta. Crystal is the "baby sister" who never knew the hardships that the other family members did, because of Loretta. She was educated and groomed with Loretta's money.
Truth is, if nobody would have said in the first place that they were sisters who would have known?
Both are stars in their own right, in fact I have more Crystal Gayle songs in my record collection than I do Loretta Lynn songs.
