Does this make sense to anyone else?!
Question: The Eagles are going to be performing on the CMAs (Country Music Awards). That just does not make any sense to me. Could someone explain this to me? Thanks for your answers in advance. :-) Oh, and Happy Halloween!

i thought they started out as country music, a backup band for linda ronstadt or something like "the stone ponies", but i guess i will have to google it or something.
They must really be hard up for gigs, maaaaaaaan.

Why doesn't it make sense? Just because they are rock and roll doesn't mean country fans don't like rock and roll. Lots of people like the Eagles. Country fans also like Lynrd Skynrd and they are not country!

Some of their musical influences are of country music, they have quite a few songs that determine that.
i think they're trying to bring the CMAs a wider audience. Take me for example... would I watch the CMAs... nevvaa. would i watch the eagles on the CMAs... hell yeah!

Maybe because compared to all the popular music styles these days, the Eagles' sound fits best with country? They'd be even more out-of-place with the other contemporary styles of music than they are with country.
It's southern rock. It can go either way.
