Who should be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame?!

Question: In 2001, ten acts were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in an apparent game of "catch-up." Currently, three acts are inducted every year. Who do you think should be part of the class of 2008?

My choices:

HANK LOCKLIN, who will be 90 in 2008. His career went from the 40s through the 70s, and "Please Help Me I'm Falling" was the #3 song of the entire decade of the 60s.

AL DEXTER, the man whose popularity was responsible for creation of a Billboard "Hillbilly and Western" singles chart.

ERNEST V. STONEMAN, who was simply too influential in the 1920s and 1930s to continue to be overlooked.

Of course I agree on Hank Locklin but I also have to list these great artists Wynn Stewart,Tommy Collins, I also think Al (Poindexter) Dexter is way overdue. I don't think some that were in this last grouping that was inducted actually deserve the accolades that some you and I as well as okiefan has listed. It's all a freakin political game nowadays.

I hear ya loud and clear!!! I'd really like to see-HANK LOCKLIN- FERLIN HUSKY-CONNIE SMITH-JEAN SHEPARD...ANY OF THE LEGENDS THAT ARE STILL ALIVE AND DO SO RIGHTLY DESERVE TO SEE THIS BEFORE THEY ARE CALLED TO HILLBILLY HEAVEN..please cast your vote by dec 31st!

Kenny Chesney <3

Wilf Carter (Montana Slim), who was one of the premier country artists in Canada for three decades and a real pioneer, also one of the best yodelers ever. Ernest V. Stoneman should have been one of the first members.

how bout David Alan Coe?

Many of the ones already mentioned are due. I really would like Connie Smith to be inducted. I was also thinking of someone who has done a lot to bring people to country music....maybe not classic country, but has brought $ and fans to the business. Those fans then were exposed to other country artists and became country fans. That person is Hank Jr.

If he's not already in Garth Brooks

Reba or Faith hill
