Is playing guitar something girls do?!
Question: I've been playing guitar, (and piano), for the last year and a half. My brother always teases my about being kind of a tom boy, for other reasons. Is playing guitar something only guys do? I know alot of women who play, like .. the two sisters in Heart. But is it considered 'feminene' too?

I don't not know if it is consider feminine, but it is certainly not just a guy thing. It is also somehting more girls should do because it is extremely sexy.
i suppose it depends what kind of music you are playing.. i wouldnt expect a "feminine" woman to be playing heavy metal or hardcore or something... but maybe more along the lines of.... i dunno something acoustic?

First of all, its not only considered feminine, but maybe he's jealous....
The earlier you start playing an instrument, and the longer you stick with it, the more successful you'll be.
Just imagine, you could be famous in ten years. In five, you never know where life can take you.

i actually have been teaching my daughter guitar for a year now, she loves wearing pink and purples shes no tomboy, check into groups such as vixen, lita ford, bangels, there not tomboys IMO

Of course women play guitar. Music isn't gender specific, at all. And playing guitar doesn't make one a "tom-boy," either. Though you may be a "tom-boy" and also play guitar or instruments, of course.
Look at all the female folk singers. Almost everyone one of them plays (or played) guitar.
Music is as feminine as you make it. But what does it matter? Be who you are, feminine, or not.

Playing musical instruments like guitar doesnt necesarily mean gender specification. Anyone can play 'em and be good at it. In fact it is an added asset that you can be proud of.
