Old Folks & Hip-Hop: When are you too old to care?!

Question: I just want to know when someone should stop worrying about who's the greatest rapper, and just grow up already.

Answers: I just want to know when someone should stop worrying about who's the greatest rapper, and just grow up already.

The day you become too old to brag about your throwbacks.

they wil grow out of it, when they mature

You're taking digs aren't you? That's not very nice.

I think age doesn't matter in hip hop, if you feel it, then you'll worry about if for the rest of your life. Its more than just music.

Never. If you love the music then you will always have the discussion. Like sports fans debating about the greatest running back or pitcher.

I am no where near old but I don't care now

age 22

Amen.

Kurtis Blow...Run DMC....Chubb Rock....will live forever!!

As soon as they're born. Rap is terrible.

there is no age to stop, why should they grow up if it makes them happy age is only a number and you are as old as you feel
all the best

They should stop worrying about who the greatest rapper is when they can't even pay for the radio they hear him/her on....

When the music no longer speaks to your generation. That's when you've out grown, certain genres of hip- hop.

Everyone has a different opinion, likes a different style of music. So NEVER

People will always argue about who is the G.O.A.T

I dont think age has nething to do with it

well we all know Elvis is king!!!!!

if you want to listen till your 80 so be it. no one really questions when younger people want to listen to old music. am i right?

all i have to say is why worry, if you enjoy the music who cares what other people think.

You stop worrying about it when you stop worrying about it.

Most people tend to cling to their beliefs about the music that they grew up with, and it stays with them most of their lives. But other things take priority after a while.

For example, I used to argue for hours over who is the greatest guitar god: Jimmy Page, Eddie van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore, or Michael Schenker. It doesn't matter anymore, but I still like their music.

It's not a question of wondering who "the greatest" of anything is, or if you should "grow up". Growing up means taking on more important priorities in life: getting a better education, getting a better job, etc. Your image of "the greatest" can always stay that way. You just move on to to other things.

.....and I still say Michael Schenker of UFO is the greatest guitarist.

its just fun debate no need to be serious

well, i'm 29 and i don't give a s$^% about whos currently crowned the greatest. i have my very limited select group of hip-hop artists i listen to but i've left keeping up on whats going on in the rap game cause i don't care. many adults just grow out of rap because they mature past the artists. but now we are getting more artists who have something more to say that an older person can vibe to. i think upper 20's is generally when people who have been fans of the artform lose interest in "the greatest" rapper debate.

A hip, hop, hippity to the hip hop you don't stop

Worry about the greatest rapper. i just want them to stop wearing their hats sideways with the tag still on. A 40 year old hip hop head ain't cute.

Love hip hop, just straighten out the lid cut off the darn tags!

when they finally get some sweet sweet...well you'll know once u get it i guess!!
