IMO, this song is about a guy being pressured by perhaps his girlfriend into being someone his isn't, and he's coming to a breaking point. The lyrics suggest he tried being who she wanted, but found it really wasn't who he was and nothing was changing anyway. An all too often situation in alot of relationships and perhaps why it was so popular because so many could relate to it. The first time I heard this song, I loved it, and that doesn't happen to me very often.....great song indeed....theonly other even semi- recent songs to have that 'I love it' first time effect on me were Miss Murder by AFI, Never Too Late by Three Days Grace, and Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin
