As you've included compelations, I'd have to go with :~
The Remasters {2 CDs with a great varied selection}
~ the first Led Zep CD I owned.
But, if it had to be strictly studio albums ~ Led Zeppelin IV
it would have to be the 4th album stairway to heaven and black dog. for greatest hits i would say the remasters album

I got it brand new when I was 14 and it changed my world, making me explore the blues that came before it.
Greatest Hits, id say. Because it has everything good packed into one.
Otherwise i like Led Zeppelin II

If I had to choose...just one Zeppelin CD, remastered by Jimmy Page of course, it would be 'Presence.'
If, for some strange reason 'Presence' were not available, then Led Zeppelin III would do.
The first Led Zeppelin album gets my vote. Set the stage for the others. Back cover picture was taken by Jimmy Page's x-Yardbird band mate Chris Dreja as well. The band that became Led Zeppelin was originally going to be called "The New Yardbirds." Go figure.
The 1990 boxed set is ideal (which i have in my collection), but I would start with Led Zepplin II if you are looking for only one record.
That is a mind-blowing question. I just can't decide. Sorry!

If it's a compilation "The BBC Sessions"
But from their albums it would be "II" no question about it.
This question is hard, but I would go with Houses of the Holy. I tend to stay away from the greatest hits because that is too obvious of a choice.
