The funeral plans are not yet available. I'm quite sure that it is very possible that he will have a service either in The Opry House or maybe even the Ryman. As soon as I get any details I will post them on Y/A. There are many details that have yet to be worked out before a decision is made.

i'm sure that okiefan will know soon, i'll bet she was on a plane last night, i prayed for porters kids too,how sad they must be, i hope okie is not taking this too hard while travelin.

A number of country artists have recognized that there is a bond between them and their fans and have, accordingly, allowed for at least a public memorial service. Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff, and Bill Monroe all had public funerals at the Opry House.

The Americana Music Association's annual conference, which starts Halloween, had planned months in advance a "salute to Porter Wagoner" to be hosted by Jim Lauderdale and Marty Stuart (who produced Wagoner's last album, "Wagonmaster") for opening night. Sadly, it's now going to be a memorial instead of a salute.

Details of his funeral has been posted on his myspace web page.
