Not anyone can write an intro, outro... 32 bars of hooks... 48 bars of emotional, multied, double multied, alliteration style of writing...
yes... many people can write the simple cat/hat rhyme and say they are rhyming... but really those rappers are just teaching a pre-school class...
To me... real rappers write more lyrics than rock sing writers... by far... I love rock more then hip-hop but writing rhymes isnt something that just comes to you... and that everyone can do it...
Rap, R&B and Rock can and has been mixed and it had the impact on me as when they where separate.

i like both rap and rock. i think instead of alienating one kind you should embrace both 'cause they've been mixed and sounded really good. look at Trick Daddy's "Let's Go", Run DMC's "Walk This Way" or "King Of Rock."
