i understand exactly how you feel, it's like removing the cheese from the macaroni..who wants to eat it dry?
i'd feel the same way, that doesn't make you less of a fan though.

I think, maybe because you got used to hearing these songs in a certain way...but they are HIS songs...HE wrote them so he has EVERY right to sing them, regardless of how anybody feels about it....but I know what you mean about "it just don't SOUND RIGHT".

I think these songs sound better with all of them Jimmy singing alone I have heard him & not that crazy about his voice

wow, between you and Fool 4 Tommy!!! (ya'll make these Q's hard (but I love 'em)!!!
I did'nt know Jimmy left, (and that's sad), but when Lew left, they HAD TO find somebody else
But, if that happened, (AND i HAVE NO DOUBT TO DOUBT YOU !!)
But the devil's advocate in me say's
Why not, The Elders EARNED their stripes, but he is still young enough to maybe, raise his kids! or write more (?) modern country but GOD I WILL MIISS THEM!!

Again, thanks for the memories (I'm starting t sound like Bob Hope !!)

Like you stated"It's just not the same"

Well I never liked them in the first place. So it's hard for me to give you a good answer

Maybe he needs to form another group, or sing the songs with a different arrangement. It will never sound right on Statler songs sung solo.

I so understand what you mean. It is very hard to hear a song by an individual when you are used to the group harmony. I think though that if the other members have no problem then he has the right to sing them. However, that does not mean you have to like the sound. After all how many of the remakes do we really care for. To me a harmony song done alone after the fact is just that another remake. So no I do not think you are wrong for feeling the way you do.
