Is it a crime to say Tupac isnt the G.O.A.T.?!
Question: seriously, is it? whenever someone on here doesnt get on their knees and anoint this dude the king, here come come a thousand hate threads discussing it, whats the big deal if somebody doesnt think you're favorite rapper is the best..i just got done reading a thread in which 3 ppl listed Lil Wayne in a top 10 greatest rappers all of time list...i dont see no threads bout that, and to me, that is far worse than say...somebody saying Pac isn't the best..He was a great rapper, One of the best to ever do it..do i think he's the best? no.. I think Rakim, Jay-z, Nas, & Biggie are all better than him..but thats just MY opinion through extensively listening to ALL of their music, not just one rapper..I think thats one problem, people have selective hearing, if all u listen to is one rapper, sooner or later you gonna start callin him the best

It's not a crime to think Pac is NOT the G.O.A.T........... HOWEVER it is kind of ridiculous to not see why he would be considered the best. I mean people get so on the denfensive when Pac fans say he's the best, we get called stans, d- riders, we get accused of not knowing anything about Hip Hop, we get totally discredited. Why?? If you look at my recent question/thread, Tupac made everyone's top 10 list. So obviously he's worth something right?? So he's not "too far off" That was my whole point. It's kind of like Presidential Elections, when the 2 candidates are very close in numbers. One may have 300,000 more votes than the other, however if you look at it by "percentage-wise" they are both at 95% (or something like that...) Do you know what I mean? Pac is not too far off. It's not like we're trying to compare KRS-1 to Lil Flip or someone?! We should be arguing with people who say that Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy is the GOAT. Not Pac! Sometimes it just feels like people have this personal vendetta against him, because he was so popular, which he couldn't help.
So to sum this all up, everyone has their right to have an opinion. But the people on this forum that think Pac is NOT the best seem to be the agressors in trying to prove their point. You never see anyone bashing out at people who love illmatic, Rakim etc. I have never once seen anyone be so persistent on proving that Rakim or Nas or KRS-1 was NOT the best. It's always the other way around. So, my question to you would be: Why is it such a crime for Tupac to be "considered" the G.O.A.T?

I'm just sayin don't be so much on the defensive and to at least try to understand *why* we feel this way and don't always take it that we're "jumping on the bandwagon" (another thing we get accused of..). That's not fair.

I've heard about Rakim being the best on here, and I keep hearing about illmatic. That's very popular on here among the regulars. But I never see ppl bashing it. I just respect it.
Well I'm not sure who's doing all the hounding on here and sending hate mail (like Evil said) is just plain immature. I can only guess that has to be the teeny boppers (like 14 yrs olds) on here that's doing that.
Bottom line: It's a 2way street if you ask me. BUT the Pac opponents seem to be more aggressive with calling names like d-riders etc. ..
Honestly HNIC I have never seen ppl bash IIImatic on here. I would say that 75% of these people on here are kids (high school). With the exception of yourself and maybe Yay and a few other regulars, high school kids don't know about Illmatic. I would bet you 10 bucks that if you asked what is IImatic, the only ppl who would answer yes are the regulars and/or anyone else over 25. And WE would never bash Illmatic.

I don't think anyone on your list is better than 'Pac. There's just no way. 2Pac was a master at conveying raw emotion. He was also never afraid to speak or rap about anything. He was always true to himself. Plus he was a class A actor as well. And as far as the people on your "greatest of all time" list, only Big ranks right up there with 2Pac. Nas is a great lyricist, but will never top Illmatic (and at one time or another I've owned all his material), Rakim, well, to be honest, I can't speak on him, Jay-Z, as far as today goes is probably the best, but he benefited more than anyone from Pac and Big dying, but he's not as good as either one of them. What about Scarface or Ice Cube. They're better than just about anyone you named, with those two notwithstanding.
