from an online emo band name generator, I'm sure.

I think it is just a random band name. I'm sure, like most bands, they just thought it sounded good and fitted their style of music.

Hellokitty has it!

Yeah, Mikey got it off an Irvine Welsh novel (Ectasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance) while working at Barnes & Nobles. He mentioned to Gerard how it would make a good band name (Mikey's lifelong dream was to be in a band) and after Gerard saw 9/11 happen, while working as an artist in New York, he started the band, and wrote 'Skylines and Turnstiles'.

Yup, like those people said ^^
Theres an interview where its just mikey and gerard and they explain, infact i think they say it quite alot in interviews.

From the book by Irvine Welshe, Three Tales of a Chemical Romance.

Mikey was working at a bookstore and saw that and thought "what a great band name."
