Walk the Line, the movie, what did you think?!

Question: Did the actors and actresses get it right? Any complaints, words of praise? I am especially interested in hearing from anybody who knew them or ever got to see them in concert.
What did you think of the music? I bought the soundtrack and I thought it was ok. I think the whole thing with Joaquin Phonenix and Reese Withespoon singing the songs was more about to help them get into the role than anything else.

I thought the movie was great. Long time fan of Johnny & June. There were inaccuracies and errors, but it was a dramatic portrayal, not a documentary. There were moments (brief) when Joaquin was "recording" at Sun that sounded so much like early Johnny that the hair stood up on the back of my neck.

P.S. Note to Left Sock-Johnny's first wife (Roseanne's mother) died in 2005, so I doubt she's coming out with a book. None of us know what went on between them, but she was portrayed pretty negatively. Roseanne refused to see the movie for that reason.

Oh my gosh. One of my favorite movies. Reese Witherspoon is amazing!

I thought they did a great job, I was impressed. Better than I thought it would be for sure.

Good movie, not always accurate, but powerful performances

it was a great movie, but i always think of what a comedian said: "it's Ray for white people"

I loved it. But what makes me upset is Johnny Cash's first wife is coming out with a book slamming both Johnny and especially June, conveniently after they both passed away. I guess so nobody can refute what she says.

no complaints they did it perfect and it was true to history. i love that movie, my mom said she use to listen to them every sunday with her grandpa and the part in the movie where he praposed to her in the middle of a concert that was really on an album they recorded everything live back in the day that is crazy. very interesting peice of history,

I thought it was good movie, but I don't know enough about Johnny cash to determine how accurate it was.

I liked the movie and learned some stuff about Johnny Cash. I thought it was a wonderful love story!

well, i haven't seen the movie for one reason only...i just cannot picture reese as JUNE CARTER!!! she's such a "little girl" faced actress and i truly believe that they could-SHOULD have done better as far as choosing JUNE'S part!
i heard that it was good though, but i just don't want that picture in my mind of reese as JUNE!

I thought it was a very good movie. And I think that Joaquin Phoenix did a better job than Reese Witherspoon simply because the role of Johnny Cash had to be tougher to play than that of June Carter. Anybody that knows anything about country music will tell you that Cash suffered from wide mood swings brought on mostly by his addiction to drugs. It couldn't have been an easy job portraying him...

I didn't get to meet Johnny Cash until the mid 1970's and what the movie portrayed isn't the man I met. I do realize that he had undergone a big change. I just say this Hollywood has it's way of selling tickets and what Hollywood says is not always the way it is/was. The main thing I choose to remember is the giant of a man who was so friendly and a gentle man in my presence. RIP Johnny & June

I gve it a thumbs up......Awesome movie
