How low could J.D Sumner sang?!
Question: He could sing lower than a low C or what is known as a double low C. I had the pleasure of being around J.D. When he sang on some shows with the late great Wally Fowler. He was a character and I always admired him. He is in the record book for his low singing. RIP J.D. & Wally

J.D. could sing lower than:
-the low guitar bridges on Wichita Lineman, Galveston and True Grit;
-the bottom of the Grand Canyon
-than a snake's belly.
What a talented, well-mannered and accomplished man. He was a national treasure who is missed to this day. I heard some of his gospel numbers, but I remember him best for having added so much to some of Elvis's records when he backed The King on stuff in the '70s.
low enough to make a standup bass jealous of a tuba?
I dunno, but it sure sounded good ... if yu were an athiest and a music fan, I think you'd go to his church seven days a week just to hear him sing ...
Lower than a snakes belly!!! and that's pretty low. I remember him as JD Sumner and the Stamps, backup singers for Elvis
