Need ORIGINAL SONGWRITER?!
Question: Hey guys my name is aisha elizabeth and I am looking for a song writer that can write pop/r&b. I would want something like Chantelle Paige's music which you can find on myspace or Hannah Montana. I can not pay you in the beginning but I am willing to give you ALL CREDIT for the writing of the song.

Just ask for songs written in the style you want.
1: You don't pay anything in advance for the use of songs. If the song is recorded the writer gets either 5 cents or 7 1/2 cents (I forget which) for each recording of that song sold. He or she may also own the sole publishing rights, or may have assigned the publishing rights to a publishing company.
There are also mechanical rights, which covers the printing of sheet music, etc, and others.
2: The songwriter(s) will get all the songwriting credits automatically because copyright-- the right to make copies-- is "inherent from the moment of creation."
3: The lyricist and composers should be members of society like BMI or ASCAP (or other similar organizations outside the US) since they will also be payed something from the license fees paid by radio and television stations and clubs, etc., for using music.
If you're looking for material to perform and record, get the most recent copy of the Writers Digest Songwriters Yearbook and contact the publishing companies listed for your area. Look for ones which indicate they are looking for pop/r&b songs.
Publishing companies usually have boxes of demos for artists to look through. Some of them get 5,000 demos a week...so be prepared to spend a lot of time listening to demos ( which is why artists usually have someone to do this for them.)
