Classic Country Fans: Is that Sonny James playing the guitar on Wynn Stewart'!

Question: I had asked some time ago if you guys thought that might be Charlie Rich on the piano on Joe Stampley's "Dear Woman," since it sounds like Charlie's piano and they were both Epic artists.

Today, a similar thing came up as I was listening to the Wynn record, "In Love." It sure sounds like Sonny James's guitar, and they were both Capitol artists. What do you guys think?

Dan I believe that Bobby Austin played the guitar on that song. I do know that the late Roy Nichols also worked for Wynn as a member of The Tourists. Bobby played a smooth sounding guitar and was also involved in rockabilly. Bobby was Wynn's bass player but he also played the acoustic guitar. I wish that I could tell you for certain but I can't. I will keep my ears open and see what I can find out for you though. I hope that this has helped you. I wish that you would have asked who was playing the steel guitar LOL. I gotta hand it to you because you come up with some good ones.

Oh how i love sonny james..thanks for even mentioning his name!
