Mel Tillis Question...?!
Question: Back in the 70's mel came out with a live album. It had Stomp them grapes and Julie. He stuttered a lot through the cd and some jokes were made in between tracks. One being the story about the song Julie how he told his wife it was a race horse in kentucky.. Does anyone know the name of the album. I have been looking for it for quite sometime.

i looked on amazon and itunes and all they had were his greatetst hits live and the essential mel tillis live collection. and cmt has an album called M-M-Mel Live/Are You Sincere. these two albums were released in the 70's and are live: Live at the Sam Houston Coliseum & Birmingham Municipal Auditorium; and Mel Tillis and the Statesiders Live
don't ring a bell, but it sounds interesting and i'd like to know too, i'll check back to see the answer.
Tex that is an interesting question. I know he has a live DVD but I don't know if that song is on it. I have the Who's Julie ablum but it wasn't a live cut. I too am interested in finding out.
He did just a couple live albums in the 70's. One of them is selling on e-bay right now. The tracks aren't listed, but the seller says you can e-mail for them. Here's the link:

M-M-Mel Live that is one live one that has Who's Julie on it and since it is spelled MMM i would assume that is stuttering.. you can find it here
