Classic Country Music Fans----Can you name this artist?!

Question: If you would please list some of this artists recordings and what YOU know about them. Thanks for taking time to answer this question.

I was born in Alabama

In 17 years I had 15 country hits with 3 of them making the top ten list.

The late Bill Monroe even complimented my voice saying it was special and had a bluegrass sound.

The record label I first recorded on was Four Star Records

I passed away in 1998
