I sure do remember Ole Poke Salad Charlie Walker. His first band was The Cowboy Ramblers. He also later had his own band called "The Texas Ramblers" His biggest hit was "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down" I also like "Please Don't Squeeze My Sharmon" "Who Will Buy The Wine" "Close All The Honky Tonks" This Texas born legend had a lot of great songs. Charlie is as down to Earth as it gets. The last time I played for Charlie was in a town called Paducah, Texas in the early 1980's.
