I think it's one of the greatest tributes an artist has ever given to his spouse. I love that song. I have played it for my wife a couple of times. I don't think she gets it. She likes the modern country I see you guys are always raggin' on. I must confess to liking it too. To me though it's not as good as the old stuff. It's more like listening to Southern Rock for me. The old stuff is true Country and that is definitely what this tune is.

I would classify this great song by the late Marty Robbins just as he intended it to be. He wrote the song for his wife Marizona to tell her how much she meant to him and give thanks for her always standing by his side even during the leaner times. So if you have a wife I reckon you would use it to tell her that you loved her or to get out of the doghouse but what would I know I don't have a wife to tell that to.

Awwww..now this is one of my all time favorites from Marty Robbins! I don't think it is depressing at all, I think it is a wonderful romantic tribute to his wife and I think she felt the exact same way.

Oh, Okie~ This has to be an Ultimate Love Song or all of the above! I have Marty's album which has this on it as well as Elvis' version. I remember when I first heard this come on the radio and I just cried. lol Well, you know how it starts out...

Born in the heat of the desert
My mother died giving me life...

Yep, it's all of the above.
