Within you or without you?

What about them?

Probably the song Across the Universe.

It has a zen mantra in the chorus : Jai guru dava om

That might be the one you are talking about.

If not that, try Strawberry Fields Forever.

Probably from the Sgt. Peppers album...Strawberry Fields?

That's gotta be "Within You Without You" by George Harrison on the Sgt. Pepper's Album.

Kabum

George played the sitar on quite a few Beatles songs during their psychedelic period.

strawberry fields forever?

There are several raga rock songs by the Beatles:
"Norwegian Wood," "Within You Without You," "Love You To," "The Inner Light," and "It's All Too Much." Also "Dear Prudence" is sort of raga-ish.

Tomorrow Never Knows
Love You To
Within You Without You

"Zen" is a pretty broad subject, in terms of music.

Many of the other people have already picked up on several possible choices.

So, I'll just repeat and add a few albums with possible titles:

Rubber Soul (released 1965)
"Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)"

Revolver (1966)
"I'm Only Sleeping"
"Love You To"
"Tomorrow Never Knows"

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967)
"Within You Without You"

Note that "Love You To" was the Beatles first attempt at adding classical Indian music, where George harrison used a tabla, sitar and tamboura drone.
