Try this. Log on to www.Pandora.com and after you sign up you can enter a favorite artist ( I suggest Peter Gabriel) and then Pandora builds a radio station that plays non-stop music similar to the type of music of the artist you plugged in. You will hear some groups that you have never heard of and some you will not like but sometimes you will go "Wow this is perfect and I can now Die Happy"

um well they just got some sex pistols up and everything! yay! but try some green day... i know people are gonna hate me for saying that but even if you don't like american idiot try dookie, green day was SOOO much different sounding back then. they've gone from punk rockers to just rock stars, and it's sort of annoying but whatever. they're still cool. but trust me they sounded so much punk rock then.
If you go into your iTunes store, there's a section on the homepage called "Just for you" where songs you should like are displayed based on your previous downloads and what's in your iTunes library. I use this often. Also, check for the free download of the week on the homepage, every week! It's a great way to try out new stuff without paying a dollar for it first.
