Classic Country fans--Who said this?!

Question: Who made this statement when asked why his songs were so sad and made people get down in the dumps and have the blues?

His quote was "the blues ain't nothing but a good man feeling bad"

(sorry) I was cleaning my computer
But I believe it was the Singing Brakeman Jimmy Rogers

(Do I get points against me for misspelling??)

Kenny Neal.

Willie Brown

People just see the first answer and go by it.
Kenny Neal did a song by that title as did Jimmy Rogers.

This quote actually came from a movie....Crossroads which came out in 1986

I think it was Jimmie Rogers, the Singing Brakeman. But for some reason, it seems like Ray Charles said something like that one time, too.

C'mon Miller's Cave, I used the term The Singing Brakeman b4 u. So don't make it look like I'm ripping you off er sumpthin'. Dang it, everybody has done that to me tonight. Oh, never mind. I think I'll just change my nic to T 4 Thelma and see what happens. (That's an obscure Jimmie reference). It's just that I'm so upfront and honest, I'm always imagining that others are 2. Yes, I'm so naive that I even use my real name here :-|
