In Oiseaux Tristes...?!

Question: in the cadenza, after the ascending three notes broken chords(is that the term?) there is the part with the very obscured rhythm. The right hand plays a melody from the beginning and the left hand plays something else. It's like two birds singing at once. Do you know any piece like that? I saw something similar in a piece by Messiaen where 4 flutes were playing 4 melodies at once. It was in the middle of an orchestral piece. It was so complicated and beautiful at the same time. Do you know anything like that. a piece for piano that is exactly like the cadenza? It's like a very modern polyphony. I love it.

Does this question make any sense?

Al, we seem to loop the loop from time to time -- Oiseaux Tristes comes and goes in your discourse. You ask point blank whether the question makes sense. Not to me it doesn't. I can see a pre-occupation, but to identify 'a piece for piano that is exactly like the cadenza' is to me nonsense. "Please Sir, I'm a conductor, please identify a piece for me that is exactly like the closing moments of Mahler's Fifth?' Answer: Mahler's Fifth, closing moments of. :-/

I'd love to help you out with this. and you've asked a version of it before as far as O. Tristes is concerned, but as the question stands I can't do anything with it. Maybe someone else can...
