MERLE HAGGARD AND THE LEGENDS OF COUNTRY MUSIC!!!!!

AND IT WOULD START OUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS.....

"THIS SH~T THEY CALL NEW COUNTRY
IS GETTIN UNDER MY SKIN,
I GLADLY GIVE THEM A "0"
ON A SCALE OF 1-10

THEY ARE FU~KING WITH OUR LEGENDS
KICKIN UP A LITTLE DUST..
THEY'VE BEEN LEFT OUT IN THE RAIN,
BUT I DON'T SEE NO RUST!!!

JUST A THOUGHT!!!

Jimmie Rogers,He started it all for me,he deserves all tributes .He is my hero!

I'm not at all a fan of remakes, (even if I were to do them,) but to answer the question, I'd have to think long and hard between Charlie Rich and Johnny Duncan. The reason I'm picking those two is because I know all their songs word for word without having to learn 'em!

With Johnny Duncan, though, I'd have to leave off the Jay and The Americans tune, (Come A Little Bit Closer,) and the Johnny Rivers tune, (Slow Dancing,) because they were remakes to begin with.

I'd say... assuming I was any good at singing I'd do a tribute to The Hag! But I'll leave him to Okiefan.

I'd go with Don "The Gentle Giant" Williams. He has that voice that no matter how rough things are can relax you and just let your troubles wash away.

Moe Bandy, I just love the honky tonk classics.

marty robbins

Johnny Cash. It's funny you asked about a country singer. I don't listen to country, but when I saw the title of your question alone I automatically thought of Johnny Cash! ;) I would make a tribute album to him because that man had lived a life and he was a kind, inventive and gentle soul. He was just like a big teddy bear, I always wanted to give him a hug when I saw him (not in person of course). One of the old gentle giants that you would loved to have had the honor of meeting...RIP Mr. Cash.

Waylon Jennings. I loved his music.

Johnny Horton. When I was about 4, I found all my parents old LPs and loved Johnny Horton right off. 30+ years later, I still do.

Loretta lynn she has it all has been there done it all the good ole girls way of living~~~~i know they have done coal miners daughter although this lady has alto coming her way needless to say all she has lived Thur in loss of so many loved ones hats of ms. Lynn we love you

Johnny Cash because he not only sang great country, he could sing any kind of music he wanted. He's best known for country, but Johnny Cash Rocked and had fun doing it !

Jimmie Rodgers or Buck Owens.

I think it would have to be Merle Haggard. I just plain love his songs and would give anything to tip my hat to the man. Especially while he's still above ground. Only thing is could I do him justice? That is the real question.
