Is Nickelback considered country or rock?!

Question: I was curious because their video for "Rockstar" is being aired on both CMT and VH1.

Answers: I was curious because their video for "Rockstar" is being aired on both CMT and VH1.

i'd say rock, but they do have a country feel about their songs

Nickelback is considered a rock group now. Just look them up on Wikipedia. Some of their earlier songs were considered country.

Either way, it doesn't matter. That band is weak.

Nickelback should never be categorized as any kind of music. ever.

definitely rock. I would not call them weak either.

Rock, I believe.

Rock i think

nickelback is definently a rock group

Nickelback was a cover rock band first. They are MOST DEFINITELY a rock band now. I am shocked that people even consider they have country roots after "Figured You Out" and "Animals". The conservative country crowd would riot if they played those records at the Grand Old Opry.

Nickelback played a cover of Joe Nichols' "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" on their live show in Nashville, but this does NOT suggest Chad Kroeger has gone country.

rock.

Rock, no doubt. "Rockstar" was probably played on CMT because of the parody aspect of the song. It was probably more for humor than the "countryness" of it.

rockstar is on CMT? wtf? they are definietly rock!!!

rock

They are Rock, but MTV(Viacom) owns both stations as well so they just put the videos wherever they feel like it.

They aint country. I seen it on CMT also. I don't think that they should play it on CMT since it is "COuntry Music Television". I like Nickelback but not when they paly it on CMT
