Did Bob Dylan write "All Along the Watchtower"?!

Question: Always thought of it as a Hendrix song, but Bob Dylan wrote everything he sang, right? And I just stumbed across him doing this song.

Yes, he wrote it.

The Hendrix cover is one of many.

Not true to say that Dylan wrote everything he sang, though. In his early days he covered a whole heap of other artists, like Woody Guthrie, and even later in his career he covered Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and many other songs.

Yes, Dylan wrote that song. Lots of Dylan songs have been covered by other artists and "All Along the Watchtower" is one.

Bob Dylan by-the-way on today's Yahoo page; I have his 1st LP, Free-Wheeling, c 1962 -- in earlier days, it was said, he 'whining his way to alienation' -- still performing at the age of 113 or something
