Mindless Self Indulgence Fans: question?!
Question: I can't figure them out. About 2 years ago, they covered Rush's "Tom Saywer". Are they (or someone in the band) Rush fans or was that cover simply a total satire?

From what I know about these guys, it's a little of both. Little Jimmy Urine is much older than most would think and clearly was a fan of Rush back in the day. Of course, their style is always going to border on insanity but that is what makes this group so special. Personally, I love their version. What's your verdict, Fonz?
Deadsy did a cover of Tom Sawyer as well in 2002. You would probably like that one as well. Their claim to fame is the lead singer is the son of Cher and Greg Allman.
I am not a fan, but I do know they've been around since '99. So they very well may be Rush fans.
Mindless is a hard band to figure out.... I think they picked the song because they just liked it. It is a very interesting cover.. What did you think of it? Since you are our go-to guy when it comes to Rush.

I would have to agree that it's a little bit of both. When I first heard it I didn't know what it was until half-way through, but now I laugh every time I hear it. It's definitely one of the most original versions I've heard of it.
