Favorite Techno CD?!
Question: I am new to the whole techno genre and I was wondering what artist(s) to get into. There seems to be a lot of good underground stuff, but if I was to get something more mainstream, what CD would you recommend or what CD is a must have for any techno fan? Thanks in advance for any answers.

There are so many dance/rave style genres out there. First you should figure out what style of 'techno' music you like. There is dance music, which is like the overplayed stuff on the radio sped up. Then there is what I call weak Techno, like Vengaboys and Paul Oakenfold (however you spell it). Then there is DnB (Drum and Bass), Happy Hardcore (which is fast cheery music put to a speedy hardcore beat) Jungle, which is more African sounding with smoother sounds. MY favorite is break beat with is just crazy hardcore beats put together. Then there is a mix of different genres, plus I am sure there is many I forgot. If you don't want to dive too far into th whole dance/rave scene, I would try Paul Oakenfold, or a little more technoy DJ TIESTO. They are a little more mainstream. If you are able to look up music somehow and sample it, like on a search engine, Look up the Artist Ayla, and the songs Ayla Part 1, and Ayla Part 2. Hope I gave you a heads up without confusing you.

Darude is a rather popular, mainstream Techno DJ. I'd look into finding some of his albums. I'm more of an underground junkie myself, but I give in and listen to Darude alot. :)
Pick up this cd....Es Vive Ibiza 2007 and get to know the artists.
