How does the new Radiohead album rate, in comparison to their previous work?!

Question: I like it, but I think it sounds more like Thom Yorke's solo album "The Eraser" than a Radiohead album.

Answers: I like it, but I think it sounds more like Thom Yorke's solo album "The Eraser" than a Radiohead album.

A few month ago a friend of mine sat me down and made me watch The Wizard of OZ to O.K. Computer as a sound track, going own about the uncanny sink of these two works. This became a bit of an obsession with us for a few weeks. You can view the crux of or madness at http://myspace.com/okoz
I believe that In Rainbows sounds a bit like OK Computer. Though I haven't try to sink it to singing munchkins or flying monkeys there is the hole rainbow analogy. As is In Rainbows is a good Radiohead album but aren't they all.

Somewhere between Com-Lag and HTTT.

Can def. feel the "Eraser" Yorke imput too.

the only way to describe it is that its beautifully weird. As with Radiohead, its different to any of their albums, its experimenting with a different sound, they seem to push themselves to create different styles of music each time. In my opinion, its better than the likes of Kid A, but I prefer albums such as The Bends and OK Computer.
Nonetheless, its unique and easy listening.

Personally I think they peaked with their very first album and have been declining ever since. Pablo Honey was fantastic, The Bends was great, OK Computer was really good.... yada yada yada... this last one is blah. I am going to do an experiment soon and find out if it is good to take a nap to. I have a suspicion that it will be as effective as a double dose of Nyquil.
It's a shame because they have so much talent as a band and Yorke can be a great singer. It seems they have fallen out of love with guitars and actual singing and now all they want to do is play samples while Yorke moans.
