Question: Can we split up hip hop and rap? It takes ages trying to filter out all the stupid questions from the good ones. Every day I’ve been on I’ve seen questions on how great soulja boy is and the arrest of TI..honestly who cares? And while I’m on the subject of stupidity, what in the hell is going on with these emos coming over here? You already proved yourselves as fragile idiots, stick to your own forum (though I’ve been on there, and I can understand why you’d wanna come here). If you think hip hop is a bad influence, then don’t listen to it, they created the off button on the tv and radio for a reason. If you think rock is better, get a razor. If you think hip hop is dead, open your eyes. If you think hip hop is demeaning, or boring or it ‘sucks’…DIAF..your opinion doesn’t matter to the majority of people in here. I’m sick of repeating the same thing over and over again. GET A GRIP

i feel your pain. i answered this guys question and i posted a link of two hip hop/ rap songs that i dont like and he flipped. i never even has said that i don't like rap and hip hop cuz i do and he was asking for songs that people can't satnd to listen too. going into the hip hop / rap section is like walking down the street in da hood with ganstaz on your back. they take things so seroiusly on that section. its only music people. theres no reason to shoot someones head off over a few songs.

ACTUALLY hip-hop and rap are two different things, their not the SAME thing, thats what people dont GET! and as for rock, just because u listen to it, doesnt mean your emo and cut yourself. I live to rock, and I dont do that. Emo is JUST a genre of rock, AND clothing style.

yes, i am also sick of of yall trying seperate the terms. as far as music goes, rap and hiphop are the same thing! hiphop is the flag, rap is an element. please, its a simple concept. no need to over-intellectualize it. rock isnt going seperate from metal, punk and classic. this is a music section right? and yes, hiphop is not only a music style-the dead horse is now beaten.

like it or not rap and hip hop are basically the same thing; definitely not different enough to warrant their own categories
